Confirmed by two ultrasound exams and a DNA screen test, we are having a boy!!
Ok, ok, so my prediction was wrong, and base on the previous bet we had with our friends, I will be buying dinner for those who guessed correctly. No problem… I am just very happy to announce that the baby is doing great! He has passed all the ultrasound, blood and genetic testings! Vivian is also doing fine, and she is enjoying all the baby movements these days.
We had a lot of replies on facebook last month on the topic of whether we are having a boy or girl, didn’t want to lose them in our mountain of facebook status updates, so I screen captured it here, for reference…

Our friend ZZ is a registered nurse working for Stanford Hospital. What’s a good friend for if we can’t exploit the privilege a little bit?
We picked tonight to drive up to Stanford Hospital to use their ultrasound machine to say hello to our baby. It is so magical and addictive to see that little thing move around non-stop in Vivian’s tummy. The kid definitely got my genes, he/she is so restless, flipping and turning at every moment! Vivian is in for a wild ride has the baby gets bigger.

After the not so pleasant experience we had with Dr. Lin earlier this month, we asked around for other O.B. recommendations, and search online for patient feedbacks. We eventually picked Dr. Takeshi Inouye of the Camino Medical Group, he had great reviews online and apparently had delivered over 3000 babies!
First of all, Camino Medical Group is a brand new, world class medical facility. Both Vivian and I have our family doctors here in the same building. It is close to our office and home, so location wise, this is the ideal place where we’d like to have our baby born.
Our first impression of Dr. Inouye was nothing but positive. He is very polite, knowledgeable and gentle. The way he performed the examination and answered our questions made us feel very comfortable and confident of his abilities. Plus, he is a good looking man, heehee, don’t laugh, this is very important since he will be the first face my baby sees when he/she arrives in this world! I don’t want the doc to scary the baby back to the womb!!
Dr. Inouye performed our first ultrasound, we saw our baby!! That little dude was moving non-stop, hard to even take a pic. Oh, we also heard the heartbeat, thumping at over 150 beats per seconds! This is still so surreal for Vivian and me, can’t believe there is a being inside her still flat tummy, amazing!!

The news came just in time for Christmas, Vivian and I found today that she “might” be pregnant. I said “might” because we tried three different home pregnancy test, and the results were mixed: that little pee stick showed one and half bar, what da heck? is that a negative or positive?
Anyways, we tried few brand of home pregnancy test, I guess collectively they indicated that we are expecting a baby, but just not absolute certain… We’ll see…

We are having a baby?!!?
