Vivian at the labor room, still smiling, we will see what happens in few hours.

Connor, you are so well loved, make sure thank each and every one of auntie and uncle when you grow up! Or I am gonna ground you!

At Connor’s baby shower a week ago, Nancy organized Connor’s due date guessing game, the buy-in was $3 for each guess, whoever guess the closest will win the dinner using the money in the pot. Here are the bids from our friends:

Vivian is really starting to show in the past week. Up until 10 days ago, her growing tummy hasn’t been that obvious and can be easily hide by loose clothing (not that she is trying to hide it or anything). These days, her waistline is growing at an increase pace, and there is no hiding now, the tummy is fast becoming her front-most body part.
Along with her physical changes, Vivian is also acting more like a pregnant woman now, she would sometime rest her hands on the top of the bump in her belly as if she is embrace the baby in the womb or subconsciously protecting her precious cargo.
The pregnancy so far has been treating Vivian quite well, the “morning sickness”, dizziness, fatigue were never much of an issue, and she was able to carry out most of her usual activities without too much issue. She feels tired from time to time and makes more frequent trips to the bathroom at night, but compare to a lot of other expecting mothers, she is very luck. One inconvenient that has begun to surface recently is getting in and out of our SUV. Our Range Rover is quite tall, and she straggles to get onboard, we can only imagine this will become more and more difficult as her tummy continues to expand.
We felt the baby kick, for the very first time two days ago! It felt like someone lightly tapped you, very gentle, but it was definitely there.
Vivian and I were laying in bed watching movie tonight, and all of the sudden she started giggling and told me the baby just kicked her… I put my hand on our tummy, and boom, there it was again, I was on the receiving end of a roundhouse kick by my son!! It was definitely a good kick, that boy got some muscles in those little inch long legs!!
This is amazing, to feel our unborn baby’s movement. The pregnancy is getting more and more real with each passing day.
Our friend ZZ is a registered nurse working for Stanford Hospital. What’s a good friend for if we can’t exploit the privilege a little bit?
We picked tonight to drive up to Stanford Hospital to use their ultrasound machine to say hello to our baby. It is so magical and addictive to see that little thing move around non-stop in Vivian’s tummy. The kid definitely got my genes, he/she is so restless, flipping and turning at every moment! Vivian is in for a wild ride has the baby gets bigger.
We went in for our first O.B. visit today with Dr. Thomas Lin, friends of ours recommended him among few other doctors. He wasn’t our first pick, but he was the only one with an open appointment within the month.
Talk about a horrible experience, Dr. Lin’s clinic is in San Jose not too far from Valley Fair mall, the facility was old and a bit smelly but his staff was friendly and very personable. We caught Dr. Lin on a bad day I guess, he was battling a cold and had a constant running nose. None of this stopped him from performing the exam on Vivian (afterward we deeply regret for not walking out of there in the first place). While talking to us, he was wiping his nose every few seconds with is bare hands! I just wanted to end the session before he pass the germs to Vivian.
Needless to say, the first thing we did after getting back to the office was to find another O.B…
The news came just in time for Christmas, Vivian and I found today that she “might” be pregnant. I said “might” because we tried three different home pregnancy test, and the results were mixed: that little pee stick showed one and half bar, what da heck? is that a negative or positive?
Anyways, we tried few brand of home pregnancy test, I guess collectively they indicated that we are expecting a baby, but just not absolute certain… We’ll see…

We are having a baby?!!?
